Mission 

The Lac qui Parle County Highway Department is responsible for construction and maintenance/clearing of the county roads and bridges, including project scheduling, surveys, design, right-of-way acquisition and contract administration. The department strives for high-quality and well-maintained travel infrastructure across the county. 

Roles & Responsibilities

The County Highway Department is responsible for completing a bridge safety inspection of all bridges on or over public roadways, except those bridges on or over State highways or with communities with a population over 5,000. Inspections are completed either annually or biannually. Routine County Highway maintenance includes snow removal, surface repair, signing, bridge repairs and roadside maintenance. Budgeting and accounting of all construction and maintenance is accomplished and reported annually.
